The Longest, Shortest Day

Published by What on Earth Books, 2024

Fourteen children in fourteen countries around the world describe their day on the June 21 solstice. Meet Kjersti in Norway where they celebrate Midsommar, Mattias in Argentina where they celebrate The Longest Night in the World, and Dimas in Indonesia, where every day is an equinox, even when it's a solstice!

In some places, like Ecuador and Stonehenge, the day is special. In other places, like Nepal, Nigeria or Morroco, it just another day. What's it like where you live?

Illustrated by fourteen global artists.
